1. Who we are
SEO Company UK (“we”, “us”) provides SEO, GEO, website and related marketing services to UK businesses. Our mailing address is 15 Shakespeare Avenue, Scunthorpe, DN17 1SA, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, email privacy@seocompanyuk.co.uk or call 020 4509 8867.
2. Data we collect
We only collect what we need to reply to you and to deliver our services. That can include:
- Contact details you give us through our forms, by email or by phone, such as your name, business name, phone number and email address
- Your website address and anything you tell us about your business, goals and the areas you serve
- Details needed to run your account if you become a client, such as billing contacts, invoices and payment records
- Logins or access you choose to share so we can work on your website, Google Business Profile or other accounts
- Basic technical data our hosting provider records when you visit the site, such as your IP address and browser type, kept in server logs for security
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Reply to your enquiry and prepare your free audit or proposal
- Provide the services you sign up for, including reports and calls about your account
- Send invoices, take payment and keep the financial records the law requires
- Keep our website and systems secure
We don’t add you to a mailing list without asking first, and we don’t use your data for automated decisions that affect you.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR we rely on these legal bases:
- Steps before a contract and the contract itself: to answer your enquiry, prepare a proposal and deliver the services you buy
- Legal obligation: to keep tax and accounting records
- Legitimate interests: to keep our website secure and to follow up on an enquiry you have made, where this doesn’t override your rights
- Consent: for anything optional, such as marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time
7. Data retention
We keep enquiry details for 12 months after we last hear from you, unless you become a client. Client records, including invoices, are kept for 6 years after our contract ends, because UK tax rules require it. Server logs are kept for no more than 90 days. When data is no longer needed, we delete it securely.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Get a copy of the personal information we keep on you
- Have wrong or missing details fixed
- Have your information erased
- Restrict how your information is used
- Object to how your information is used, including for marketing
- Receive your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- Take back your consent whenever you like, where consent is our basis
To use any of these rights, email privacy@seocompanyuk.co.uk. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month.
9. Keeping your data safe
We use secure, encrypted connections on our website, strong passwords and two-step sign-in on our accounts, and we limit access to your data to the people who need it to do their work. Any logins you share with us are stored in a password manager and removed when our work together ends.
10. Contact and complaints
If you have a question or concern, email privacy@seocompanyuk.co.uk, call 020 4509 8867 or write to SEO Company UK, 15 Shakespeare Avenue, Scunthorpe, DN17 1SA, United Kingdom. We’ll do our best to sort it out.
You can also raise a complaint with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office), which regulates data protection in the UK, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
